St. Francis of Assisi has several young people signed up to attend World Youth Day (WYD) 2023 in Lisbon, Portugal, with Fr. Staley . WYD promises to be a strengthening, re-energizing experience for all those attending, encouraging a spirit of evangelization. In the midst of church restructuring here in St. Louis, bringing our youth closer to God and community is one way we can ensure a bright future for our Archdiocese.
A ticket to World Youth Day is a significant financial burden, primarily due to the trans-Atlantic flight required to get there.
As our fundraiser for Giving Tuesday this year, SFA will be raising funds to help offset the cost for our youth headed to Lisbon. Any additional funds over our goal will go towards SFA Youth Ministry.
For the 7 youth from our parish going on this trip, we hope to raise a combined total of $15,000. This will significantly lessen the burden on them and their families.
