Mrs. Gina Faust CGS Catechist / Faith Formation Assistant ”If we want to help the child grow near to God, we should, with patience and courage…seek to go always closer to the vital nucleus of things. This requires study and prayer. The child himself will be our teacher if we know how to observe him.” - Sofia Cavalletti -

Greetings!  I am Gina Faust the Catechist for Catechesis Of The Good Shepherd.  Our time together is spent in a specially prepared environment called The  Atrium,  a space created in which learning and study become contemplation and prayer with each material of work.  The Atrium is a place where the only teacher is Christ. I am honored to be able to walk the Faith journey with students through the mystery of each season building and enjoying their relationship with God.

I have always had a passion for teaching and after a Mission Trip to Africa, it was placed on my heart to teach religion.  After receiving my Associates in Early Childhood Education, I was in the preschool classroom for 20 years.  The beginning of teaching religion began with acquiring my Catechist Religion Certification from the Archdiocese.  Being eager to learn more, I continued my education receiving Certification in Levels 1, 11 and 111  for Catechesis of The Good Shepherd along with Theology of the Body Certification for grades K-5.  I love being a witness to students as they perceive, “God, who are you? and How do you love us?”

I am a Mom to 4 grown boys who attended St. Simon The Apostle, where I am a Parishioner. I am a very blessed Grandma (Nonna) to 8 beautiful grandbabies!  My husband and I enjoy spending time at our Lake House with family and friends.  I love to read, journal and cook but most of all traveling. I have traveled to Africa several times as a Missionary and hoping to return.  I have a dream of visiting the Holy Land one day too!
