Meet Mrs. Terriault

Hi there, and welcome to second grade! What a fun grade to be in! I love teaching and watching little minds develop into wonderful readers, writers, mathematicians, and more! Children have a great deal to teach us through their curiosity, kindness, creativity, and honesty. In our classroom, we grow together. Our school continually researches various techniques and ideas to cater to our students' diverse interests, learning styles, and needs. We use blended learning to help each child grow at their own pace. This means we combine traditional classroom instruction with technology, hands-on activities, and small-group work. It gives students more choice, a greater voice, and more opportunities to shine. In the second grade, our students receive the sacraments of First Reconciliation and First Communion. It’s so beautiful to watch them grow in their relationships with God!

I have wanted to be a teacher for as long as I can remember. I received my Bachelor’s Degree from Texas State University in 2010, but I married and started a family soon after. Teaching was put on hold for a while so that I could stay home with my boys. I began as a substitute for St. Francis for four years and then as an aide for a year and a half. This is my third year as the lead teacher, and I couldn’t love it more!

I have two sons (7th and 5th grade) attending St. Francis. Our family loves camping, being outdoors, and working on our home. We are from Texas and go home every chance we get!

Teaching at St. Francis of Assisi has been the most rewarding experience of my career. I love the strong sense of community and belonging that St. Francis has, and I am so blessed to be a part of it. I love the relationships I build, not only with my students, but with their families. We are a team working together to support the learning and growth of these wonderful kiddos! Let’s make this year amazing — together!
