1st Grade is the Place to Be……

We work carefully all year to create a climate that fosters a love of learning. We become cooperative learners and problem solvers through our Project Lead the Way modules. I strongly believe in differentiating my lessons and use blended learning to put the students in control of many of their own learning experiences.

I grew up playing school with my younger brother. Everything I learned at school, I came right home and shared with him. His teacher was surprised when he started kindergarten able to read. I always embraced and loved everything about school. Even though my first Bachelor's degree is in Business Administration, I quickly realized that I could not ignore my calling to be a teacher. I took classes while my children were little and completed my Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education from the University of Missouri - Saint Louis in 2013.

My husband and I will be celebrating our 25th wedding anniversary this November. We are parishioners at Saint Francis of Assisi and have 4 children who all attended SFA school. Our oldest daughter will begin working on her Master's Degree at the University of Colorado - Boulder in August. Our second daughter just finished her sophomore year at Texas Christian University. We have an upcoming senior daughter at Cor Jesu and a junior son at Vianney High School. My husband and I love to spend time with our family and travel.

What makes SFA a special place is definitely the sense of community, the quality of education, and the presence of Jesus. This is something you really have to walk down the halls to experience! Please email me if you have any questions at linda.wood@sfaschoolstl.org or if you would even like me to share with you further why SFA is such a great place to learn!
